Research & Development
Biax is pleased to provide daily trials for your Research & Development purposes at our facility. We will work with you on projects using the Biax Meltblown (MB) and Microspan® stretching equipment.
Biax Fiberfilm's research and development efforts have recently resulted in two major technology breakthroughs: a modified meltblown system capable of making stronger fabrics using low MFR polymers; and a process to produce cellulosic microfiber nonwovens from wood pulp using Biax's meltblown technology. The patent for the second new process is pending, and it has the potential to convert the existing use of plastics to biodegradable products from renewable natural resources. Cellulosic (wood) microfiber products will find applications in many nonwoven products where absorbency, comfort, and biodegradability are desired by the customer.
250mm, 380mm and 600mm MB Pilot Lines
Biax-Fiberfilm offers HT Series MB Pilot Lines. These lines are available for cost effective research and development and first-time users. These pilot lines are extremely useful when testing different grades of new polymers before going into production. This service includes, but not limited to:
